A particular flag has flown outside LaPoynor High School in LaRue, Texas going back generations.

The flag in question is red, white, and blue, but it’s not Old Glory. No, it’s not the Stars and Bars, either.

This particular flag bears a cross – a symbol of the Christian faith, and is as much a part of the local culture as baseball and apple pie are classic Americana.

The Christian flag flies alongside the Texas Lone Star flag and Old Glory.

Everything was fine until a bunch of know-it-all, pretentious, out of towners rolled into town demanding the flags come down.

A Wisconsin-based group of hard core atheists,The Freedom From Religion Foundation, sent a letter to the local school district demanding the flag be removed.

“It is unconstitutional for the school to display the Christian flag,” FFRF attorney Sam Grover wrote to Supt. James Young. “The display of this patently religious symbol by the District confers government endorsement of Christianity, in violation of the Establishment Clause.”

The militant atheists demanded the school take measures to be more inclusive to “minority religions” and “non-religious people”.

“The District must immediately remove the Christian flag from school grounds,” Grover wrote. “In addition, the District must ensure that its staff members are not organizing, promoting, or participating in religious events while acting int heir official capacities.”

The school superintendent told local news reporters they were reviewing the demand letter – but have yet to make any sort of announcement.

Students collaborated and came up with a plan, and set about making it happen.

What these Christianity-hating Atheists didn’t take into account is the resolve of Texans. You don’t mess with Texas, and that’s not just a catch-phrase, it’s a way of life in the Lone Star State.

One morning, a convoy of trucks driven by students pulled into the school’s parking lot, and look what their response to the Atheist’s was. Perfect!
