Millionaire NY Gov Candidate Openly Running on Marxist Campaign Platform #NewYork #Communist #Socialist #Marxist

Former “Sex and the City” star and New York gubernatorial candidate Cynthia Nixon said Tuesday that she considers herself a democratic socialist.

In other words, a Marxist, Communist, Socialist, etc, etc, etc… All poison fruit from the Tree of Marx.

It’s the first time the Emmy Award-winning actress — with a reported net worth of $60 million — has described herself in those terms, Politico reported.

“Some more establishment, corporate Democrats get very scared by this term but if being a democratic socialist means that you believe health care, housing, education and the things we need to thrive should be a basic right not a privilege then count me in,” Ms. Nixon wrote in an email.

“As Martin Luther King put it, call it democracy or call it democratic socialism but we have to have a better distribution of wealth in this country,” she said. “I have long stood in support of a millionaires tax, Medicare for all, fully funding our public schools, housing for all and rejecting all corporation donations — all of which align with democratic socialist principles.”

Ms. Nixon, who is running against Gov. Andrew Cuomo in a Democratic primary this September, said people like House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi were “dead wrong” to think socialism would remain a fringe element of the Democratic Party.

“I think that of course wealthy people and big corporations have always had an outsized influence on American politics and world politics, but at this moment, when you look at what the agendas of corporations are and you look at governmental policies, there is almost no daylight between them,” she said.

Dutchess County Executive Marc Molinaro, the Republican gubernatorial nominee, said Ms. Nixon’s views won’t resonate with voters.

“Millionaires like Cynthia Nixon may be able to dream about socialist paradises, but here in the real world, people can’t afford the taxes they have,” Mr. Molinaro said. “New York spends too much as is. If Ms. Nixon thinks socialism is the answer, she should ask the people of Venezuela.”

Hopefully the people of New York will see past her attempts to convert the state into Illinois 2.0 and not elect her.

However, if they do, people like one now-deceased attorney will be thrilled, and perhaps will stop setting themselves on fire.

Recently a prominent, and clearly mentally deranged LGBTWTF rights lawyer died after setting himself on fire in Brooklyn’s Prospect Park.

David Buckel, 60, killed himself after sending messages to multiple news outlets including The New York Times claiming his intentions to set himself on fire to protest the world’s usage of fossil fuels at the expense of the environment.

“Pollution ravages our planet, oozing inhabitability via air, soil, water and weather,” Buckel wrote the Times in an email. “Most humans on the planet now breathe air made unhealthy by fossil fuels, and many die early deaths as a result – my early death by fossil fuel reflects what we are doing to ourselves.”

“A life of privilege requires actions to balance the harm caused, and the greater the privilege, the greater the responsibility,” Buckel added.

“For if one does not leave behind a world better for having lived in it, all that remains are selfish ends, sometimes wrapped in family or nation.”

Now if inly Mr Buckel had waited a while longer, he could be the campaign manager for Ms Nixon, or at least her environmental advisor. If only.

A national LGBTWTF rights organization that mourned his death in a statement on its website.

“The news of David’s death is heartbreaking. This is a tremendous loss for our Lambda Legal family, but also for the entire movement for social justice,” the group said in a statement.

“David was an indefatigable attorney and advocate, and also a dedicated and loving friend to so many. He will be remembered for his kindness, devotion, and vision for justice.”
