Despite the fact that gun control has caused a massacre of epic proportions, and that the deaths caused by their policies surpass those lost fighting in Afghanistan. Speaking of Afghanistan, when your city (Chicago) has more murders than Kabul, your ideas of preventing violence with gun control are obviously completely wrong.
Yet despite the fact that more people are carrying firearms legally than ever before, following its peak in the early-’90s, the national murder rate has declined steadily, yet remains incredibly high in Democrat-ruled cities with gun control laws, as shown in the graphic below.
Two teenagers have been shot to death on Baltimore’s streets–the latest a 16-year-old boy–as the city surpasses 100 murders for the first time this year.
Police Commissioner Darryl De Sousa called the violence “unacceptable.” He said the teen was also armed “with a .380” in his pocket and “known to police.” Police also said the teen had drugs on him.
“He’s not a number to us. He’s someone who had a family… Not just his life is lost, but everybody is destroyed behind this,” De Sousa said.
Mayor Catherine Pugh reacted to the murder this morning. “This was not just somebody playing on the basketball court. But let me just say this to you all: No child, no child, no death in this city is acceptable, and we’ve got to get guns out of the hands of our children and we’ve got to get guns out of the hands of those who are carrying illegal guns on our streets,” the mayor said.
Asked how do you get rid of the guns, Pugh replied with the typical Democrat-Communist response, “Stop making them.”
Meanwhile in Chicago, the death toll mounts as the weather warms and the ‘hood rats start hunting each other. According to HeyJackass.com, a website that tracks the futility of Chicago’s gun policies reports that to date in 2018: Shot & Killed: 139, Shot & Wounded: 707, Total Shot: 846, Total Homicides: 168
Let us not forget another hub of death and mayhem in the USA, Los Angeles, another gun control city with more criminals with guns than honest people without, 598 were murdered over the last 12 months.
The upward trend in the national murder rate is attributed to sharp increases in crime in a handful of American cities. In Chicago, for example, the murder rate nearly doubled between 2014 and 2016. Milwaukee and Louisville, Kentucky, saw comparable spikes.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation tracks murder rates through its annual Uniform Crime Report (UCR), which draws on data that cities and other jurisdictions send to the bureau. The 2017 report will not be public until the Fall of 2018.
Yet despite the mountains of evidence proving that states with open-carry have dramatically lower murder rates, Democrats insist on preaching gun control.
Perhaps it’s not about the guns, but the control?
