Mr Americana, Overpasses News Desk

Every once in a great while, the Washington Post accidentally publishes real news.
No doubt it’s an accident, given their long history of being a Marxist propaganda outlet. Nevertheless, they revealed some shocking statistics about gun deaths in America.
What they showed is that there are dramatically different reasons for gun deaths of blacks and whites. For whites, “77 percent of gun deaths are suicides.” For black Americans, 82 percent die from homicide, mostly committed by other black Americans.
It’s definitely not the police, as the rioting Social Justice Warriors and liberal media would have you believe.
What this also reveals is that this high homicide rate comes from a population with a much lower rate of gun ownership.
Roughly “41 percent of white households own guns, compared with to just 19 percent of black households.”
In other words, when it comes to guns — white and black Americans live different lives. White Americans don’t experience much criminal gun violence but have much greater exposure to guns.
Quite simply, the facts prove that gun ownership doesn’t lead to criminal carnage, so fear-based gun control arguments simply don’t ring true.
What does this tell us? It shows that unless there are effective legal, political, and cultural efforts to thwart the criminal class, even much lower rates of gun ownership won’t stop widespread violence. Black America is quite simply going to have to stop making excuses and clean up their own house. The blame whitey excuse is a false paradigm, and they know it.
Black America has a rate of gun ownership that gun controllers have drooled over for decades, yet it still suffers from a horrifying level of homicide.
Then let us not forget that suicides are not just the vast majority of white gun deaths, but the vast majority of gun deaths, period.
It’s very clear that high rates of gun ownership are not linked to the suicide rate. Japan and South Korea have extremely high suicide rates, yet have a much lower level of gun ownership. Suicide is a mental health issue. It is not a gun problem.
Gun controllers stereotypically scoff when they hear the old saying, “Guns don’t kill people. People kill people.” But it’s true.
Nations and communities with low rates of gun ownership still suffer high rates of homicide. Nations and communities with low rates of gun ownership can suffer from high rates of suicide.
Black America has a homicide problem. White America has a suicide problem.
It’s time for gun controllers to admit this is a personal responsibility issue.
Guns don’t make anyone kill. People choose to do so, whether a gun is involved or not.
