LOOK! Up In the Sky! It’s a Bird, It’s a Plane! Oh Wait… It’s a Load of Crap! #India #Airdrop

The sky is falling, the sky is falling! What’s falling from the sky in India, is quite appalling!

People living in Haryana, India thought they had made an alien discovery this past weekend only to learn the visitor was nothing quite so exotic.

When the “meteorite” landed in a field in Fazilpur Badli village Saturday morning, residents said they could hear the deep impact.

“It came out of the sky, sounding exactly like an airplane,” the landowner identified only as Balwan told the Indian Express.

“Before I could ascertain what it was, it landed in my field.”

Locals gathered around the crash site to inspect the seemingly exotic item, perhaps a meteor, believing it to weigh between 17 and 22 pounds based on the crater it left in the ground.

“Initially, we thought it could be ice, but it was not melting. So we figured it must have some kind of chemical in it,” said Govind Singh, a local head of government.

Unsure if the “meteor” was even safe to touch, they alerted the authorities.

“I received a call at 9 a.m. from (Singh), who told me that some ‘ice’ seemed to have landed in the fields,” said police inspector Karan Singh.

“It looked like ice even to me, but I alerted higher officials and called in the crime team and a senior medical officer’s team to the spot for investigation.”

Scientists with the India Meteorological Department would arrive later that afternoon. With their knowledge of phenomena both worldly and extraterrestrial, they reached a conclusion.

“The object has been identified as human excreta dumped by an aircraft,” said Vivek Kalia, estate officer of the Haryana Urban Development Authority.

As it turds out, airborne excrement released from a plane can freeze by the time it strikes the earth.

Just 10 days before the incident involving the high-flying feces, India’s government reiterated a warning to airlines that any companies caught emptying their toilets mid-air will be fined approximately $784.
