If you’re not with God, you’re against Him. If you’re against him, there is only one other side to be on. Satan’s.
If you’re hell-bent on removing a Christian cross anywhere you see it, you’re stated clearly what side you’re on.
Two groups are calling for the removal of a large cross that’s been on the shores of Lake Michigan for 60 years.
Why not, after all? Let’s face it, these people will not stop, until they are stopped by any means necessary.
The Michigan Association of Civil Rights and the Wisconsin-based Freedom From Religion Foundation argue that the Father Marquette cross is unconstitutional.
Association for Civil Rights? So what happened to the 1st Amendment rights of those who wish to see the cross remain?
Association President Mitch Kahle says the First Amendment’s Establishment Clause prohibits Pere Marquette Township from displaying and maintaining the religious symbol.
Let’s take a look at the 1st Amendment to see if they’re right.
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.
No religion was established by the placement of that cross. The cross, while a religious icon, is ALSO a cultural icon reaching back over 2,000 years.
The Ludington Daily News reports that the two groups have also criticized the township’s nearly $75,000 renovation project for the cross.
Well of course they have. They want that money for their lawsuit settlement.
Township officials are scheduled to meet with lawyers later this month to discuss the issue.
The cross is named after French missionary Father Jacques Marquette who was among the first Europeans to explore the Michigan coastline in the 1670s.
So yet once again, we have the godless trying to tell those of faith how they can exercise their First Amendment rights.
How long will it be before those of faith have had enough? The Crusades got pretty bloody, and there’s a lot of very, very angry Christians out there with no relief valve for their fury.
Just sayin’, Atheists. Pick your battles carefully.
On a closing note, one has to wonder when these minions of Satan will decide to go after the Cross In The Woods in Indian River, Michigan.
